Before founding Tangent Data Services, Daniel spent five years at Hunter Global Investors (a global, equity focused hedge fund) covering the Global Financial Services Sector. Prior to Hunter Global, Daniel was a Managing Director in the Equity Research Department at Bear Stearns. As the Senior Analyst covering the Brokers, Asset Managers, and Financial Technology sectors, Daniel was recognized by Institutional Investor Magazine for his outstanding work from 2000 to 2007. Daniel started his career at Ernst & Young LLP in 1993. He spent six years in the Audit Department focusing on the financial services industry and was promoted to Audit Manager in 1999. Daniel graduated with a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from The George Washington University and received his CPA Certification in 1995.
Before joining Tangent Data Services, Brian spent 3 years as a consultant working with startups, small businesses, and a financial advisory firm. Prior to that, Brian spent 6 years working for equity hedge funds (including Soros Fund Management, Exis Capital, SAC Capital) with roles ranging from research analyst to portfolio manager. Before that, he spent 6 years working for global investment banking firms (including Bear Stearns, Credit Suisse Group) in both the Strategy and Research functions, with an emphasis on Global Financial Services and Financial Technology companies. He started his career working for Arthur Andersen in the Audit Division.
Brian graduated from Creighton University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with majors in both Accounting and Finance. He received his CPA certification in 1997 and CFA charter in 2000.
Before joining Tangent Data Services, Chris spent almost 2 years at Matterhorn Transactions Inc. (a platform for research into M&A agreements and other transactions) as VP of Engineering. Prior to Matterhorn, Chris spent 4 years as a Software Engineer, then Director of Engineering, at BrightWire Inc. (a real-time news publisher serving institutional investors with a focus on international markets), and continues to serve on the BrightWire advisory board. Chris graduated Magna cum Laude with a B.S. in Mathematics & Computer Science from University of Massachusetts Lowell.
Bob is a managing partner of Tangent Capital, a broker-dealer focused on the alternatives industry. He also serves as a board member of EULAV asset management and Jubak Asset Management, with over $2 billion under management, and of Gust.com, the global platform for early stage equity investors. Bob began his career as a trial lawyer at the US Department of Justice, and then became a partner at Milbank, Tweed, Hadley, and McCloy. He founded a technology startup in the mid-nineties that became the publicly traded Viewpoint Corporation, of which he served as CEO and Chairman. He then co-founded Tangent in 2004. A frequent commentator and lecturer on the markets and technology, Bob is a Contributing Editor for Bloomberg Television and author of the upcoming Harper Collins title, “The Alternative Answer,” as well the business strategy book “Three Moves Ahead.”
Brian is currently a Senior Managing Director at Tangent Capital, a leading Merchant Bank. Before joining Tangent Capital, Brian was a founding member of Arklow Capital, LLC, a Registered Investment Advisor managing a portfolio of long and short investments primarily in the U.S. public markets. Before founding Arklow, Brian was an executive officer of Viewpoint Corporation (later known as Enliven Marketing Technologies Corporation), a publicly-traded internet marketing and software company. Prior to joining Viewpoint in 2000, he was an attorney in the Global Corporate Finance and Financial Restructuring groups of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy specializing in finance and securities, mergers and acquisitions, public and private offerings, and restructurings and reorganizations. Brian holds a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and a B.A. from Queens College.
John Cooper is co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of BrightWire – a firm that harnesses world class technology and highly educated analysts to deliver deeply insightful news streams originating in languages around the world. Mr. Cooper was previously an Investment Banker with Bear Stearns, in their Technology, Media, and Telecom group. Prior to that, John held technology and sales management positions with Plumtree Software. John began his career as a Software Engineer with Sun Microsystems. John is also co-founder and Chairman of Aviadi Foundation, a disaster relief organization that provides humanitarian relief to remote areas of the world using general aviation. Mr. Cooper received his BA in Computer Science from Gettysburg College and MBA from Columbia Business School.
Mark Gerson is the co-founder and Chairman of Gerson Lehrman Group (GLG). He is the Chairman of United Hatzalah (the network of first responders that treat victims of pre-hospital trauma in Israel) and the co-founder and Chairman of the Africa Mission Healthcare Foundation (which supports the work of medical missionaries performing clinical care throughout Africa). Mark is also the Chairman of Axial Markets and the author of several books and numerous articles and essays. He lives with his wife, Rabbi Erica Gerson, and their two sons in New Jersey. He is a summa cum laude graduate of Williams College and received his JD from Yale Law School.
Laurence Goldberg is the Head of Technology, Media and Telecom Investment Banking at a leading Global Investment Bank. He has been in investment banking since 1989. Previously, he was Global Head of Technology Investment Banking at Lehman Brothers and was also a Managing Director in Technology Investment Banking at Credit Suisse First Boston. He received a BS in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Stuart Linde was most recently a managing director and head of global equity research at Barclays. He was a member of the firm's Operating Committee, Equities Executive and Management Committees, and the Exposures Committee. From 2003 to 2008, Mr. Linde served as head of Equity Research, Americas at Lehman Brothers. Under his leadership, the US Equity Research team ranked in the Top 3 of the Institutional Investor’s "All-America Research Team" for 10 consecutive years. He began his career at Lehman as an equity research analyst and was recognized by both Institutional Investor Magazine and the Wall Street Journal for his work. Prior to joining Lehman in 1998, Mr. Linde was with Gerard Klauer Mattison & Co. and Fahnestock & Company for eight years. Mr. Linde received a BA in Economics from NYU and a MBA from Rutgers University Graduate School of Management.
